Black Tie

Consisting of the Dinner suit, white dress shirt, black shoes, black bow tie and either a black waistcoat or cummerbund, black tie is the dress code for semi-formal events occurring after 6pm. This would include dinner parties, cocktail events, social gatherings and evening weddings. The black accessories can be exchanged for co-ordinating colours.

White Tie

Consisting of the Evening tail coat and double satin striped evening trousers, white Marcella shirt, waistcoat and bow tie, and black shoes, white tie is the dress code for formal events occurring after 6pm. This would include state functions, balls, banquets, the opening of the opera and ballet seasons and is the dress code for conductors and soloists at evening concerts.

Morning Wear

The traditional morning wear for formal occasions consists of a black morning coat tails, striped trousers, white shirt with a Goodwood collar if to be worn with a tie, or Victorian winged collar if to be worn with a cravat, dove grey waistcoat, and black shoes. For semi-formal occasions a lighter coloured suit and/or waistcoat can be worn. Morning wear is worn for occasions before 5pm. This would include hunts, funerals, and high society sporting events and is the dress code for wedding guests if stated.

Wedding Wear

Wedding wear for the groom and groomsmen can be adapted to compliment the wedding party. Jackets can be of varying styles and colour; usually these are teamed with colourful waistcoats and cravats. Shirts can be wing or cutaway.

Highland Wear

For those of Scottish descent Highland wear can be worn in the place of the above dress codes, whether it be black or white tie, a day or evening event.

Lounge Suits

Consisting of a standard suit with shirt and tie, lounge suits are worn at informal day or evening events. These include funerals, weddings, social events, and business functions.
